AStudents at OU wanted to start a group to support Toms shoes - an organization started to raise money for kids all around the world who don't have the luxury of wearing nice brand name shoes on their feet. To raise awareness and help start the OU group - students took part in an event called "A Day Without Shoes." The group paraded down Court Street, bare feet to bricks, shouting out at pedestrians to take off their shoes for their cause, and many did.
As we were walking, we passed this man who, oblivious to what was going on, was tying his dress shoes that had come undone as he was walking. This to me drove home the message - we don't realize the small things that make life so much better for us until we go without, but many people never will.
